Sorry for the German title but it sounds much worse in English 'special week'. During this spetzial Woche my class mates were on a week long trip in England and I was... In another German course. It was pretty fun and I was able to meet the other exchange students at my school. We are a very small group this year. We have See-yee from Malaysia, Gia from Itay (both of them are leaving in November), Miyugi from Japan, and Ashleen from Nashville (I probably did not spell they're names write).
Monday: On Monday we studied German words and grammar and also started a little art project telling the other students in the school about ourselves
Tuesday: In the morning we worked more on German and in the afternoon we toured through the city a little I read an article in German about one of Solothurns historical buildings and presented it to our group of five in English. That evening I had choir for the first time! It is all children younger than me and a few near my age, but we got to yodel and sing in German so it was fun!
Wednesday: more German
Thursday: On Thursday we met one of our two teachers in the market next to school to buy ingredients for meals we were going to make. Before she got there we found Recese Peqnutbutter cups which was amazing because I am pretty sure it is the only store in Switzerland that sells them. I of cours purchased on only to have my mouth invaded by sugar. I did not realize how much less sugar I have been eating. I almost could not finish the candy because of its taste! When the teacher arrived we purchased all of the ingredients needed for our meal. We cooked and ate at her house, the food was some meat dish I didn't really pay attention to, Rostli (didn't think spell that right either) a potatoe dish, and a type of pie (only two tablespoons sugar!).
Friday: On Friday we went to a French town called neuenburg. It was very pretty. We took a ferry over the lake to an archeology museum. Later we walked through the streets, they were getting ready for a carnival later that night.
I have to ask...is that soil? Also, is that the pie recipe you sent us? We are getting apple sthis weekend from hood river and will use some in that pie. yum.
