Lunch:
A week or two ago I went to the first lunch meeting of my Rotary. It is even fancier than the Greater Bend Rotary club lunch, which I didn't think was possible. I was served a salad than a plate of vegetables, and lastly a coffee. We finished all of our food and than the presentation started. It was about the immigration of refugees not Switzerland and how that is seen in the different parties. All in all it was a very educational meeting. On the fourth I must make a small presentation in front of the club about myself, I hope it goes well!
Wednesday:
On Wednesday evening I went to Jowissa for a rotary evening with my host parents(also not spelled right, but you should know this by now). It is a swiss watch company that one of the new joined members owns. He told us about his company, the new building that had just bin finished, and a little about himself. The company is world wide and has watches that range from 99-1000 dollars. A large part of their company is tourist watches sold in airports and shops popular tourist spots. After his presentation was over we had food. We had a traditional Solothurn soup, than a pizza. Both were delicious. Later we had a cake for dessert. Throughout the night I was able to talk to and meet many Rotary people which was cool. I got invited to go skiing this winter in the Alps with quite a few of them. I hope I remember how, it has been about two years since I have been up to Mt. Bachelor.
Saturday:
On Saturday, Halloween, I went into a forrest in the Mountains with Hans, my Rotary person. We were there to rebuild a Playground in the forrest. This playground is an area where three women work as child carers and teachers. They provide all day child care for 32$, I thought that was pretty cool. During the day the men built a new Sheltered area for the kids and also a log marble racer. The others cooked with big pots over fires. I watched over the kids, played games with them, and pushed them on the swing. I also met one of the rotarians daughters, Anna, she was very nice. For lunch rotary had silverware, wine glasses, and plates in the forrest. It cracked me up because it was so fancy.
